I think the increase in downvotes you're seeing are simply the result of being lumped in with the rest by people unfamiliar with your early contributions to the scene. I mean, I know I'm annoyed when I click a link and it's basically a 1 paragraph repost of an annoucement or a "teaser" with no content at all. Now, there's a lot of people doing it - and other self-promotion - and the quality is dropping rapidly. Back then, a Let's Play was valued content. The difference for me between an enjoyable Let's Play and an annoying Let's Play is if the guy playing actually talks about things (and even then, it all comes down to if you enjoy listening to what the have to say) and doesn't just scream or crack jokes for a ten minute video and never touch the game again.
